If you are reading this, no doubt you realize that you are in an excellent position to feel well and protect your health moving forward. For this to happen, you must start looking at your health and where it will be in the next 5, 10, 20 years and beyond. People are living longer these days and you will be the exception in that you will hopefully outlive those people. To make this happen, you must have the attitude that it is a worthwhile investment of your time and resources to seek this out. You must ask questions, or not exist, you must take a special interest in your own health when physicians and everyone else does not. Think about is this way: If you suffer a heart attack in the next 5 years, what would that mean to your productivity? Business? Financial plans for the future? Family and legacy? For most, it is crippling. However, the fault does not lie in your genetics of your physicians’’ failure to treat you. For not being proactive enough, not asking questions enough.
Many of the patients who walk through our doors are special members of society. The responsibility placed upon them are a lot larger than that placed upon an average man. Society cannot afford you having a poor health outlook on your future. Even though your PCP and other physicians and people tell you that you are not sick, that they cannot help you, you need to push your agenda forward to move beyond this. Yes, there will be some bullying, there will be some pushiness, but it is a small price to pay as opposed to suffering from something catastrophic that would malign your future and those that you are responsible for.
